The Core Rules

1. Zero tolerance for negativity, harassment, or personal attacks. Disagreeing about a card or a price is fine. Insulting another collector, calling someone names, or tearing them down is not. One warning, then ban.
2. Ohtani only. This is a focused community. Cards, memorabilia, and discussion must center on Shohei Ohtani. Off-topic posts will be removed.
3. No bashing of buyers, sellers, dealers, or other forums. If you had a bad experience, take it up privately or with a moderator. Public callouts are not allowed.
4. No lowball-as-insult. Make any offer you want, but frame it respectfully. Mocking someone's asking price or telling them they're "delusional" is grounds for removal.
5. No doxxing, threats, or sharing of private info. Never post someone's home address, phone number, real name (if they post under a handle), or any private DMs. Instant ban.
6. Be honest about what you're selling or trading. Photos must be of the actual item. Disclose condition issues, alterations, or anything that could affect value. Misrepresentation = ban.
7. No fake or AI-generated card images. Photos must be of real cards in your possession. No fakes, no fantasy mockups, no AI-generated "what if" cards.
8. No off-platform shilling or scams. Don't push people to sketchy outside sites. All transactions discussed here should be conducted in a verifiable, mainstream way (PayPal G&S, escrow, in-person with documentation, etc.).
9. One account per person. Sockpuppets, fake reviews, or coordinated upvoting are all bannable.
10. Hate speech, slurs, and discriminatory language are never allowed. Including casual or "joking" use. Zero tolerance.
11. Keep the politics out. Unless directly relevant to Ohtani (e.g., his contract structure), keep political commentary off the forum.
12. Respect the moderators. If a mod asks you to edit, remove, or stop something, do it. Argue the decision in private, not in-thread.

For Sale / Trading Etiquette

• Include clear photos, the grade (or "raw"), the price (or "BO/best offer"), and your preferred payment method.
• Once a card sells, edit your post or comment to mark it SOLD. Don't leave dead listings up.
• If you commit to a trade or sale, follow through. Backing out without good reason damages trust.
• SHOCardsLA is not a party to any transaction between forum members. Buyer and seller assume their own risk. We strongly recommend PayPal Goods & Services or comparable buyer-protected payment.

Moderation & Enforcement

Posts that violate these rules will be removed. Severity decides the response:

• Minor first offense: Post is removed with a private explanation. No mark on your record.
• Repeated minor offenses or one moderate offense: Account is temporarily suspended (7 days).
• Severe offense (harassment, doxxing, scams, hate speech, fraud): Permanent ban, no appeal.

Decisions are made by SHOCardsLA moderators and are final. We will explain reasoning when asked in good faith, but we won't debate moderation in public threads.

Reporting

Every post and reply has a Report button. Use it when you see a rule violation rather than engaging publicly. We read every report.
