Privacy & Community Rules
What we collect, how we use it, and how we expect members to behave.
Information we collect
- Account info: your name and email address (provided via Netlify Identity when you sign up).
- Forum activity: posts, replies, reactions, ratings, vouches you create on the SHOCardsLA forum.
- Inquiries: if you message a card owner about a listing, the text of your messages is stored alongside the seller's so both parties can read the thread.
- Optional preferences: if you opt in to inventory-update emails, we keep a flag on your profile and your email so we can email you when new cards are added.
How we use it
- To run the forum, display your name and rating on posts, and connect you with other collectors.
- To deliver messages between buyers and card owners through our anonymous chat system.
- To send the occasional inventory-update email — only if you've opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time from your profile page.
- To enforce community rules (e.g. removing posts, banning accounts that abuse the platform).
What we don't do
- We don't sell your email or any other personal information to third parties.
- We don't send marketing emails unless you opt in.
- We don't display your email publicly on the forum.
Anonymous chat (Message Seller)
When you message a card owner about a listed item, your name is visible to that owner. The owner's identity stays hidden from you ("Card Owner") until they choose to share it within the conversation. Both parties can read the full thread; admins can review threads only if a report is filed.
Community rules
- Be respectful. No harassment, hate speech, slurs, or threats. Disagreement is fine; personal attacks are not.
- No scams. Don't misrepresent cards, doctor photos, or solicit off-platform payments before any agreement.
- Honest ratings. Only rate or vouch members you've actually transacted with.
- No spam. Don't post the same listing repeatedly or promote unrelated businesses.
- Stay on topic. The forum is for Ohtani-focused collecting, trading, and discussion.
Account removal
You can email hello@shocardsla.com any time to have your account and posts removed. We honor deletion requests within 7 days.
